Flagstone
Flagstone is the most natural hardscape there is: broad, irregular pieces of real stone, each one different, that make a walk or patio look like it grew out of the garden. These projects set flagstone across metro Atlanta properties, dry-laid or mortared, with the tight joints and true lines that separate craftsmanship from a pile of rock.
The idea
Real stone, set by hand
Flagstone is unforgiving to install well precisely because it is irregular. Every piece has to be chosen, sometimes cut, and fitted so the joints stay tight and the surface sits flat and stable. Done poorly it wobbles and trips; done well it looks effortless, as though the stones were always there. That fitting, piece by piece, is where the craft lives.
Underneath, the same rules apply as any hardscape: a proper base, the right setting bed, and grading so water runs off. These projects pair the hand-fitting of the stone with the base work that keeps a flagstone walk or patio true for years.

Flagstone walkways
Broad, irregular stone set with tight joints to make a path that feels natural underfoot, winding from the drive to the door or through a garden. No two pieces are alike, so every walk is one of a kind.

Flagstone patios
A flagstone patio gives a seating area the organic color and texture only real stone has. Set on a proper base, it becomes an outdoor room that reads as part of the garden rather than a hard edge dropped into it.

Steppers and garden paths
Individual flagstone steppers set into a lawn or bed make a soft, informal route across a yard, letting the grass or groundcover grow between the stones for a relaxed, established look.

Dry-laid or mortared
Flagstone can be dry-laid in a stone-dust setting bed for a natural look that drains freely, or mortared over a concrete base for a firmer, more formal surface. We choose the method to fit the use and the setting.
